Shelley has been fortunate to study in-depth principles of yoga with inspiring masters such as Max Strom, Shiva Rea, and Hala Khouri. She is co-owner of The Pilates Room & Yoga Lounge in Hermosa Beach, and currently teaches there regularly, as well as for Yogaworks in El Segundo. Shelley has recently partnered with Mukti Yoga School, developed by Julie Rader, in guiding 200 hour foundation teacher trainings, and co-teaching some of the advanced modules.

Shelley has traveled to teach in Bermuda, Costa Rica, spontaneously on the beaches of Bali, and guides adventure/yoga retreats. The Pilates Room & Yoga Lounge’s “Yoga for Surfing” class was developed by Shelley in 2004 and continues to be the south bay’s original yoga class for the ocean minded. Shelley also created and guided “Yoga Core Strength” a specific vinyasa yoga class incorporating the concepts of Pilates, the cultivation of yogic bandhas, and the fluidity of vinyasa flow yoga for Sacred Movement, Max Strom’s school for yoga and healing in Venice, California.

Shelley coordinates the Integrated Arts Outreach Program, specifically designed for at-risk teens within the El Segundo Unified School District, and continues to facilitate the program, which includes both a Vinyasa Yoga unit, as well as a West African drumming unit.
